Terms of use

1. General

These terms govern the use of the youEDC portal: the sites youedc.com, app.youedc.com, docs.youedc.com and their subdomains (the “portal”). Rights holder: Т.Г. (contact@youedc.com) (the “rights holder”). Signing up or otherwise using the portal means you accept these terms.

The portal currently runs as a non-commercial test and is provided free of charge.

2. Rights to the portal

The exclusive right to the portal and everything it consists of belongs to the rights holder: the software, its source and object code, the database and its structure, the design and interface, the name and logo, the texts, help and documentation, templates, checklists and methodological materials. All rights reserved.

The user receives a simple (non-exclusive), free licence to use the portal for its purpose in a browser while the account exists. No other rights are granted.

Without the rights holder’s written permission you may not:

• copy, reproduce, distribute, translate or modify the portal or its parts, including the design, texts and documentation;
• decompile the portal, extract its source code or otherwise study how it is built, except where the law expressly allows it;
• collect the portal’s content automatically (scraping) or use it to train artificial intelligence models;
• build similar services from the portal, its design or materials;
• use the name youEDC or the portal’s logo.

3. Users’ data

Everything a user enters or uploads to the portal (project and study data, files, tasks, notes, coding decisions and the like) belongs to the user or to the organisation they work for, for example the study sponsor. The rights holder acquires no rights to this data and uses it only to run the portal: storage, backups and showing it to project members within their roles.

The rights holder keeps anonymous statistics of feature use (which feature, how many times) to administer the portal and protect the server.

The user is responsible for the lawfulness of the data they upload: a legal basis, contracts with the sponsor, the confidentiality of the protocol. Personal data is processed under the personal data policy.

4. Third-party components and dictionaries

The portal uses free software and fonts under their licences (MIT, BSD, Apache 2.0, LGPL, SIL Open Font License, PostgreSQL License). The rights to them stay with their authors; these terms transfer none of them.

Dictionaries: ICD-10-CM and CTCAE are in the public domain (US government); UCUM is © Regenstrief Institute, used under the UCUM terms; the ATC training extract is © WHO Collaborating Centre for Drug Statistics Methodology, for non-commercial use only. MedDRA, WHODrug and other licensed dictionaries are uploaded by their licence holder; the portal grants no rights to them.

5. Test mode and liability

The portal is provided “as is”. It has not been validated for regulatory clinical trials; do not use it as the only system for data that requires a validated system. To the extent the law allows, the rights holder is not liable for lost profits or indirect damages related to the use of the portal.

6. Changes and governing law

A new version is published on this page with its date. These terms are governed by the law of the Russian Federation.
